Hi Creative Friends,
Since it is Christmas Eve and Santa is readying his sleigh, I thought it only fitting to share this holiday card with you. It features my favorite Christmas motif, Santa and his sleigh from the Penny Black stamp “Snow Dasher“.
I created a 5″x7″ Night (navy) card stock card base and a matching 5″x7″ panel.
With the panel in hand, I cut out a white cardstock circle for the moon and a matching circle from my panel. The white moon was insert in the panel and then the whole panel was adhered to the card base.
I used Chipped Sapphire distress ink, ink dauber, and the Tim Holtz Moon mask/stencil set to give detail to the moon.
Next, using a stamp positioner, I stamped Santa and his sleigh using Versafine Black Onyx ink and the Snow Dasher stamp.
The town was cut out of black cardstock. To add light to some of the windows, I traced the town’s outline onto a shimmery gold paper and fussy-cut it out, then glued it to the back of the town cutout. From there, the city was glued to the bottom of the panel.
The sky was next. I wanted tiny stars but I didn’t have a stencil of just tiny stars. So, I used gold ink with a nib and pen holder to hand draw them. Another option is to use a gold gel pen. Check out the supply list for either of these choices.
Finally, it was time for the sentiment. I gold embossed ‘Merry Christmas, may your days be merry and bright” from the Papertrey Ink This Is Big: Merry Christmas.
Wishing you and yours a lovely holiday and hope it is filled with warmth and happiness! ♥
