A Little Bit of Whimsy
Hi Crafty Friends,
It’s time for a little bit of whimsy, and what better way than to add a festive hedgehog or two! The new Whimsical stamp and die set by Penny Black has all the right goodies. Then, combine it with the Whimsical Beliefs sentiment set, and you have everything you need!

Of course, I started with the adorable critters. The one holding all the presents ready to topple is beyond cute, and don’t forget the little guy floating in on his balloon!
They were each stamped onto white cardstock using an alcohol marker-friendly ink. My favorite is the Memento Tuxedo Black or their Extreme.
From there, I used a variety of alcohol markers, using the warm brown and soft pink for the hedgehogs and a few bright colors for the gifts and balloon. Once done, they were cut out using the matching dies.
To build the foundation of the card, I first cut a 4.25′ x 7″ panel and a matching card base. The panel was added to the front of the cardbase. Next, a 3.25″ x 6″ white panel was cut, and a foam backing was added to pop it up. It was mounted to the front of the card base.

A slightly smaller top panel was cut from Bristol paper for easy ink blending. It was ink blended using Tumbled Glass and a bit of Peacock Feathers for the sky and Bundled Sage and Rustic Wilderness for the grassy ground. To finish the panel, the super cute sentiment from Whimsical Beliefs was stamped using Nocturne black ink
This panel was foam-backed and mounted on the top of the cardbase. The critters were mounted with foam squares, and tiny butterflies from the stamp and die set were stamped, colored, and cut out for the final extra touch!

I’m a sucker for adorable hedgehogs, and Penny Black’s are some of the best. It always puts a smile on my face, and hopefully it did you too. ♥
