Merry Mice Making A Joyful Christmas

Merry Mice Making A Joyful Christmas

Hi Crafty Friends,

We are sharing another adorable Holiday card from Rosali of I Love Stamping (IG: @ilovestamping). She is using the merry little mice from the Lawn Fawn A Creature Was Stirring stamp and die set. These delightful mice are making a very joyful Christmas with all their sweet confections.

Rosali starts off with a hot-pressed watercolor panel. With a piece of masking paper, she masks off the bottom half of the panel, then placed a brick wall stencil over top and blended on Lawn Fawn Merman ink (see supply list below). After the brick background is created, she then blocks the freshly made brick wall with the same piece of masking paper and blends on Bubblegum ink to the bottom. To finish the background panel, she adds a stitched border using a die from the Lawn Fawn Rectangle Stackables. It was now time to set this panel aside while she worked on her little creatures and confections.

Using another piece of hot-pressed watercolor paper, Rosali stamped the charming elements included in the stamp set with waterproof ink, like VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink, then set about water coloring all the pieces. Once done, they were cut out with the matching die set or fuzzy cut out.

It was time to create this cute scene by first mounting the background panel to a Robin’s Egg blue card stock card base. Next, all the sweet elements were arranged and attached with glue, and some were popped up with foam tape.

The only things left to do were to first add a sentiment, which she made by cutting out a banner from red, Peppermint card stock, and white heat embossing the sentiment onto it. The banner was then folded on the score lines and glued in place.

To complete the charming scene, Rosali added her last details by stamping the little swirls above the cake (you’ll find this swirl stamp in the LF Love You A Latte stamp set) and then adding a few white accents with her gel pen to some of the elements. Now it is absolute perfection!
