Oh, Hello – The Stamp Market’s Dotted Hello and Joan Bardee

We are super excited today! Joan Bardee, from the Dear Paperlicous blog, is our guest today and she always has creative card designs and fun conversation. Today’s AWESOME design sports a brightly rainbow stitched ‘Hello” card, using the Dotted Hello die by The Stamp Market.  This cheery card would brighten anyone’s day!

Hi there! Glad to be back sharing a fun, very easy to make, card using The Stamp Market’s Dotted Hello die.  This die cuts dots in the shape of the word Hello.

One of the things I like about this particular die is that the dots are big enough to get the eye of a needle through them. (Not the case with all my stitching dies!) I used 6-strand embroidery floss made by DMC and found that doubling it up (using 12 strands of embroidery floss) worked best. The strands fit into the eye of my needle and then completely filled up the holes made by the die. 

Added a few colorful heart stickers from my stash, trimmed the white cardstock and popped up on a pale gray card. 

This is the type of card I love to have on hand – it works for friends and for folks I do not know. And, rainbow colors work for kids and adults, male and female. I belong to a Facebook group called Because Kindness (it’s open to all). It’s a place for folks to post card requests. Every once in awhile I get my act together and gather up a bunch of my cards and send them in response to these requests. 

I remember when stampers would send my Mom cards and it meant a lot to her. (Once she asked me why my cards weren’t as nice as the ones she was receiving. Thanks, Mom!) Plus, I find that reading the brief stories about why someone could use a card puts my own life issues in perspective.
