Pumpkin Blessings

Pumpkin Blessings

Hi Creative Friends,

One of my favorite seasons, Autumn, is right around the corner. It is also a time for harvest and the new My Favorite Things Greatest Blessing stamps and dies set is perfect to celebrate this time of year!

I started by stamping the wheelbarrow and wagon stuffed full of pumpkins, along with a few individual pumpkins too, onto cold-pressed watercolor paper, using Versafine Black Onyx ink. Using my glass mat as a palette, I smooched patches of distress inks onto my mat to use for the painting of the pumpkins and wagons.

The inks I used are listed below and are in the supply list too:

Pumpkins: Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Crackling Campfire, and Candied Apple

Leaves: Rustic Wilderness, Ripe Avocado, Squeezed Lemonade

Wheelbarrow and wagon: Broken China, Faded Jeans, Pumice Stone, Black Soot…plus a little Gathered Twigs for the handles on the wheelbarrow and wood on the wagon.

Once all the elements were painted and dry, I cut them out with the coordinating dies, then set them aside for now.

Next, was the background. Using a piece of Bristol paper, I blended Shabby Shutters and Mowed Lawn onto the panel for the grassy area. Then, added Speckled Egg for the sky. I made sure I left a small strip of white between the grassy area and the sky.

The background panel was trimmed slightly, then adhered to the front of a white card stock card base. A white frame was cut out of white cardstock, then added to the front of the card.

All the previously made elements (wagon, wheelbarrow, and pumpkin) were attached with foam squares.

For the final touch, I chose one of the greetings from the stamp set and stamped it onto the front using Versafine Black Onyx ink.

I love how the card turned out I hope you like it too.

Before I go, I want to give special credit to Nicky Meek for the background inspiration. She uses awesome colors and blends them just right. Check her out here
