Stirring Up A Birthday Cake For You

Stirring Up A Birthday Cake For You

HI Crafty Friends,

We are so thrilled to share a super cute card design by Rosali of I Love Stamping (IG: @ilovestamping), featuring the mice from the adorable Lawn Fawn stamp and die set, A Creature Was Stirring.  Rosali is always so creative in how she uses her stamps and dies. For this card, she used the shutter die set to give it an extra fun interactive dimension, plus shows you how to stretch the use of a Christmas stamp set by making it a birthday card!

Rosali started out stamping the cute mice and cake from the stamp set, using a Copic friendly ink like Extreme Hybrid and a piece of Neenah white card stock. She colored them with Copic markers and cut them out with the matching dies. While she was at it, she also stamped the sentiment onto a strip of kraft paper, then cut it out using Lawn Fawn’s Fancy Wavy Banners.

With the elements done and set aside, she set out to create the interactive shutter card. Rosali used a few Lawn Fawn paper packs, plus some yellow cardstock for construction (see supply list below).

To make things easier, there is a how-to video from Lawn Fawn’s video to show you how to put together a shutter card. Check it out below.

The front of the card is decorated with more patterned paper from the same Lawn Fawn paper packs . A ‘belly’ band was made and a stitched circle cut from the stackable circles by Lawn Fawn.  Finally, the word ‘hello’ was cut from the Scripty Hello die from Lawn Fawn and added to the band.

The band was carefully slipped over the finished card for a great finish to the card.

And there we have it, an awesome card that will delight any recipient! Thanks so much, Rosali for sharing!
