Sweet Anemones

Sweet Anemones

Hi There Creative Friends,

I have a charming little card using the new Layered Anemones and Circle Duo die sets by Spellbinders to share with you today. Making this card was so much fun! The flowers are super cute and easy to make!

The minute I saw the Betterpress Circle Duo press plate set, it reminded me of a sun. So… I started with a porcelain Betterpress cotton A2 panel and my Betterpress system.

With the die mounted on my Betterpress base, I inked the circle with an ombre of color, using first Antique Linen, then Fossilized Amber, and finally Mustard Seed distress inks.

Once the circle was well inked, I wiped off any excess ink around the circle, clicked on the top with the porcelain panel, then ran it through my die-cutting machine. And, VIOLA! a beautiful letter-pressed circle… I love it!

This panel was trimmed a little on each side, mounted onto another A2 porcelain panel. The whole assembly was then added to the front of a white A2 cardstock card panel.

Next, I cut out the flowers, stems, and leaves using the cute Layered Anemones die set. I used Glacier, Gumball, and Easter Grass cardstock, and a scrap of bright yellow and an accent of foam-backed glitter paper (this is cool stuff – see supply list below).

The flowers were a snap to assemble, then applied to the front using glue and a few foam squares.

The only thing left to do was the sentiment. For this, I reached into my stash of strip sentiments that I had previously made using the Spellbinders Hex-Gem sentiment set and my Glimmer hot foil system. I like nothing more than having a bunch of sentiments at the ready and this set makes it so easy. It hot-foils all the sentiments at once, then the matching die cuts them all out at once too… how awesome is that?

The card is done and I couldn’t be more pleased. I hope you enjoyed it too!
