Sweet Forest Animals

Sweet Forest Animals

Hi Creative Friends,

I am sharing a few of my favorite dies from Alexandra Renke. Alexandra Renke makes beautifully intricate dies and these two dies,  the Birch Forest and Forest Animals are perfect together,

This is a super easy card design! When using these few Renke dies, the card practically makes itself… so let’s jump in!

To begin, I started by cutting out the birch forest from heavy white cardstock. There are two dies to this set. I only used one but you can combine them to make a denser tree forest. By the way, I cut two of the forest trees so that I could stack and glue them together. Next, I cut out the little animals from the same cardstock and set them aside while I created the background.

For the background, I blended a few distress inks on Bristol paper. Using a slimline Bristol paper panel that was slightly larger than the forest cut-outs, I blended Speckled Egg distress ink over the whole panel. Then, I added Black Soot at the bottom and Chipped Sapphire on the edges, making the color more intense but leaving the center lighter.

While the background was drying, I made a slimline card base, then mounted the background on top. Next, I added the forest (remember that I had cut two and then stacked and glued them together).

Next, I painted the moon and stars with Finetect gold paint, let them dry while I added a few trees that I had leftover from another project.

The moon and stars were now dry, so I added them to the sky and tucked in the animals here and there. I didn’t add a sentiment. I thought the serene scene said everything!
