We are sharing an adorable owl from the Feathered Friends collection by Papertrey Ink – Ink To Paper. He is Feathered Friend 11 in the series and he’s a cutie, sitting high in the trees and saying ‘Hey There’!

As promised, here is the video to show you all the steps!
The card design features a leaf-embossed border. This was done by using an A2 (4.25″ x 5,5″) chipboard panel and embossing it with the Border Bling: Leaves die set. It was then mounted onto a white card base.
Next, a small panel of Vintage Cream was stamped with the Nifty Plaid background stamp and it was then white heat embossed and trimmed to fit inside the embossed rectangle of the chipboard panel. A little Honey Nut was blended on top to give it more depth.
It was mounted on top of the chipboard and a white card stock frame was cut using the Skinny Stitched frames die by Papertrey Ink. The frame was then mounted with some foam tape.
It was on to the owl… after cutting out all the pieces of the owl with Bristol paper (so the ink blends better), they were colored using blending brushes and a collection of Papertrey Ink ink cube (Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Honey Nut, Hibiscus Burst, Royal Velvet, Dark Indigo, and True Black). Refer to the video for all the details!
Wood chips were cut, colored with Honey Nut, then stamped with Cocoa Bean. They were then arranged and applied to the front of the card for his nest. The owl was placed on top with some foam tape.
Then, leaves from the Into The Blooms II set were cut from Bristol paper and colored with a blending brush and New Leaf, Pinfeather, and a dash of Bright Buttercup. They were then applied to the ‘scene’ with foam tape and glue.
The final touch was the sentiment, I chose to use a chat bubble from Penny Black’s Chat Bubble die set. I cut it from black card stock and white heat embossed it with a sentiment from the awesome and very complete Say It Essentials stamp set by Papertrey Ink – Ink To Paper.
Now this cheeky little owl is ready to say “Hey there’ to a favorite friend, ♥
