Well, Hello Lovely

Well, Hello Lovely

Hi Crafty Friends,

I am here with another video to share. This one features the delightful bird, Feathered Friends 13 by Papertrey Ink, along with the On The Border: Leaves frame. He (or she) is sitting so proudly on his branch saying, “Hello Lovely” to all of you!

I love all the birds in this series but this one is especially lovely. I think it is his plump little body and sweet face! Check out the video below for all the steps to create the background and bird.

As you saw in the video, I started by making the background. The On The Border: Leaves really make a great backdrop when splattered with different inks. I used hot-pressed watercolor paper and distress inks for this. They are all listed in the supply list below.

When the ink splattering was done and completely dry, I cut out the leaves border and another one from white cardstock. They were stacked and glued together to create depth and dimension. Then, a halo of golden colors was placed on the back of the leaves and all was mounted to the card front.

The little bird was cut from bristol paper, then each piece was ink blended with complementary colors. This is where the video really comes in handy so you can see all the steps for coloring and putting him together! All the ink colors used were Papertrey Ink colors and are listed below.

With the bird done, I went on to the stout little branch. I borrowed it from the Feathered Friends Mini 8 stamp and die set. I then cut it out of white cardstock and stamped it with Cocoa Bean ink.

Before I mounted the branch and bird, I stamped the sentiment using Dark Indigo ink. The saying was from the very versatile new Just Sentiments stamp set: Happy Hello.

Finally, the bird and branch were pressed into place with a bit of foam tape.

And there you have it…. another adorable bird saying Hello!
