XOXO – Hugs and Kisses

XOXO – Hugs and Kisses

Hi Creative Friends,

I am sharing a super simple hugs and kisses card design using the brand new My Favorite Things Love Icons die set. This set has several fun and bold icons to make your Valentine’s Day or love card a sure hit!

This slimline card design requires very few supplies and you can make it in a flash.

I started with a white cardstock panel, a slightly larger red cardstock panel, and a larger white cardstock panel. I think the size I chose for the smallest white panel was 3.5″ x 7.5″ and the other panels were made a little larger accordingly. A same-size white card base was made to match the size of the largest panel too.

Next, using the Love Icons My Favorite Things die set,  I cut out several sets of X’s and O’s from white and red cardstock. I also cut out one set from a scrap of heart-patterned paper.

You may have noticed that there are two “O’s” in the die set. One with a heart cut out and the other not. I used the heart cutout one for the center set of X’s and O’s.

I stacked and glued two white letters together, then added one red one and glued it slightly offset. All the letters were prepared this way. Once done, I arranged the X’s and O’s on the white panel, deciding where I would like the letters placed. Once decided, I drew a faint pencil line to use as a guide.

Starting from the left and working toward the right, I glued down the XO pattern, making sure to use the heart “O’ in the middle.

When the panel was complete, I erased the pencil line and mounted it onto the red panel. Then, went on to add another layer by gluing it to the largest panel and then onto the cardbase.

I kept this card design super simple and only added a red glitter heart (from the center of the heart ‘O’) that I made by stacking and gluing two hearts together, then smearing it with liquid glue and sprinkling it with red glitter.

This completes my Valentine’s Day for my hubby. He like simple, clean lines so I think it will be perfect!
