Dream Big!

Hi Everyone,

Here is a fun card that is just in time for graduation! It is a great time to give a BIG, hopeful send off to our grads!

The card starts with stamping on Neenah white card stock the bicycle, flag and cute kitty from the Built For You stamp set by Lawn Fawn.

All of these elements were colored with Copic markers. There is a handy Copic marker guide below to follow if you like. I usually start with the lightest color and then go darker and darker. For instance, I colored the kitty with some C01, then added spots of C03, C05 and C07, then went back and blended with the C01, being sure to leave a few white spots.

Next, with a square of the white cardstock, I inked up a blending tool round foam with Squeezed Lemonade distress ink and made a round sun by spinning a circle with the blending tool. Then, I created the clouds with the Cloud stencil by My Favorite Things, Tumbled Glass distress ink and again the blending tool.

The stencil is really easy to use by starting at the bottom and adding a little Tumbled Glass ink just past the edge of the stencil, then moving the stencil around and doing the same, working your way up the paper. If you haven’t done this before, it is like magic. Try it on a piece of scratch paper to get the hang of it…then go for it.

The parts of the card were nearly ready to assemble. I just needed the grassy hills and the ‘road’. The hills were cut out of a piece of green polka dot paper I had in my stash. I used the Grassy Hillside Pop-up lawn cuts by Lawn Fawn and the road was cut using the Lawn Fawn Road Border lawn cuts.

The sentiment was die cut from the Dream Big creative dies by Penny Black. It was cut out of Cotton Candy cardstock, then colored in an ombre effect using Copic Markers. To do this, I started at the top with R81 and colored the whole sentiment, then a 1/3 away down, I added R22 all the way to the bottom. Then, added R35 on the bottom third.

With a square white cardstock card base, I started adding the layers to create the ‘scene’.

A square panel of diagonal stripe paper from Lawn Fawn’s Let’s Polka in the Meadow paper pack was added to the card base. To that, the cloud square panel was added on top of the diagonal stripe. The largest hill was added. The top hill had a piece of foam mounted on the back to pop it up for added dimension, then affixed to the larger hill.

The ‘road’ was added, then the bicycle with the kitty and flag was positioned with foam tape and the sentiment set in place. The final touch was adhering clusters of sequin and adding clear Wink of Stella over the sentiment and flowers.
