Hey There

Hey There

Hi Creative Friends,

Let the sunshine in… with our new card design featuring the Abstract Florals stamp and cut set by Hero Arts. The cool thing about this set is that not only does it have oodles of flowers, but as a bonus, it also includes the stamps and dies in the set. that’s a win-win in our book!

These flowers are so fun and cheery, we wanted a crisp, white background to show them off. So, we started with an A2-sized card base and panel. Next, we added a random stripe to the bottom edge of the front panel. We went totally DIY on making the striped edging, but then, as soon as we were done, we remembered the patterns in the Big Happy Patterns stamp set by Concord & 9th would have been perfect! You can check it out in the supply list below.

Next, were the flowers. There are so many different flowers to choose from, and just think of all the color palettes you can choose. We went for bright colors and used Pink Lemonade with a dash of Honeysuckle for the large flower. Then, spritzed the stamp with water to get the colors mingling.

We followed the same steps with the remainder of the flowers. We used Bluebell and Aster for the cluster of small flowers, and Berry Kiss and Wildberry for the next one. Then, finally, Buttercup for the yellow one. The leaves were first stamped with Sprout and followed up with Basil ink. After the flowers were stamped and cut out using the included dies, we also stamped and cut out the centers. We used Nocturne black ink for that.

We used a bold sentiment from the Kristina Werner Circle Sayings, cutting it from black and white cardstock,

Arranging the flowers and sentiment was the tricky bit. There are so many options, it was hard to choose.

Everything was mounted with foam squares, and we were done! We love how fast this came together, but mostly we are thrilled by the way these bright flowers just seem to let the sunshine in!

We hope you enjoyed our paper crafting adventure today… We hope to see you next time!
