Posy Hugs

Posy Hugs

Hi Creative Friends,

I have a new card design for you using the new Concord & 9th Paper Posy set. I am in love with these flowers. You can create so many different ones, and you can even emboss them if you like. For this card, I took a little different approach and did a ‘meadow of flowers’ but I am eager to make another card using the embossing folder!

There are so many brightly colored flowers in bloom right now! They inspired me to put them to paper. Though you can smartly use the embossing folder to create marvelous large flowers, I went for the smaller flowers for this card design.

To start, I cut a Juniper green cardstock front panel and a matching cardstock card base. The panel was added to the front and a thin gold foil frame was cut using Kristina Werner’s A7 Thin Frames die set and adhered to the front.

Next, I cut a bunch of different foliage and flowers in a few different cardstock colors using scraps from the assorted cardstock pack by Concord & 9th. I also cut out two gold foil ‘hugs’ sentiments from the Hugs and Friend die set, then glued and stacked them together.

For the tiny spray of flowers, I painted yellow acrylic paint to the ends to create a bright, sunshine-y burst of color.

Ready to assemble, I started with the foliage, gluing the different pieces in place. Next, the flowers were arranged and adhered with tiny foam squares, along with the ‘hugs’ sentiment.

To finish, I added light and dark pink stars (die included). Finally, I added clusters of white dots using a Posca white pen.

I am pleased with my meadow of flowers. I hope you enjoyed it too and that it inspired you to create something with this awesome floral die set!
