Spritely Little Star Flowers

Spritely Little Star Flowers

Hi Creative Friends,

We are sharing a sweet card design using the spritely little flowers in Papertrey Ink’s Jar Accessories stamp and die set. There are oodles of delightful stamps in this stamp set but for this project, we are just using cute flowers. To add a little pop of green, we borrowed the leaves from the Towering Stems stamp and die set.

I am always a sucker for fresh little flowers like these. So let’s start there.

Using Neenah 80lb. white cardstock, I cut out a bunch of flowers, then stamped them in different Spring-like colors. I used Papertrey Ink’s ink cubes Berry Sorbet, Pale Peony, Winter Wisteria, Lavender Moon, and added a pop of blue by stamping a few with Spring Rain.

This set didn’t include any leaves so I borrowed a few from the Towering Stems stamp and die set. I cut them out of 80lb white card stock too. I used Pine Feather ink to stamp them. There are solid leaf stamps in the set to color the interior of the leaves but a couple of Copic markers made quick work of it. First, I used YG03, then shaded with G03 (check out the supply list below for all the goodies used). There is also a bow in the Jar Accessories set so I cut one of those and stamped it with Blueberry Sky (I love bows, they add such a nice little touch, don’t you agree?)

Next, I stamped a little white cardstock strip with the sentiment (included in the Jar set) using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using WOW! Metallic Pale Gold embossing powder – don’t forget to use the anti-static powder for a clean embossed result.

With all the elements done, it was time to assemble. I started by creating a 110lb. white A2 card base and a slightly smaller panel (4″ x 5.25″). I added a panel of foam to the back of the white panel, then mounted it to the front of the card base. This popped it up a bit.

Next, I arranged the flowers on top. When I was satisfied with the arrangement, I mounted each one with a little foam square on the back of each flower and popped on the bow in the same way. The leaves were tucked in here and there and glued in place, along with the sentiment strip.

For the final touch, I added itty bitty dots of Nuvo drops (Dandelion and Plum Pudding) to the center of each flower.

And there you have it, a sweet card ready for nearly any occasion!
