Old World Easter Bunny

Old World Easter Bunny

Hi Creative Friends,

Spring is finally here and Easter is quickly approaching so it is time to share this absolutely delightful old-world Easter Bunny. He couldn’t get more adorable with his wicker basket backpack filled with colorful Easter eggs and his tiny little jacket. This bunny and many other wonderful bunnies are included in the Easter Bunny and Friends stamp set by Alexandra Renke.

I thought about water coloring Mr. Easter Bunny but in the end, used Copic markers. So, this means I started by stamping Mr. Easter Bunny with an alcohol ink marker-friendly ink. One of my favorites is Lawn Fawn Premium Jet Black ink (see supply list below). I also stamped a few eggs that will be nestled in the grass. They were all colored with Copic markers. The coloring is super easy and it goes quickly.

Once all the eggs and bunny were colored, I stamped blades of grass around the eggs using a very handy stamp set by Art Impressions called Watercolor Foliage 1 and New Leaf ink cube. A blue sky was blended onto the background with markers and a little green was added to fill in the grass. Little dots of white Bleedproof ink were splattered on the background.

While the bunny panel was drying, I prepared an A2 card base and a slightly smaller panel where I cut out a rectangle from the center, then cut a decorative edge using Moda Scrap’s Creative Rectangle die set. At the same time, I cut another panel from fuchsia card stock and cut out the center of it too with a rectangle die.

Now it was just a matter of adding the sentiment and assembly. I stacked and glued the fuchsia panel and rectangle panel together, then stamped the sentiment. There are many wonderful sayings in the Just Sentiments: Easter mini stamp set by Papertrey Ink. I chose one of those and stamped it onto the panel using Versafine Black Onyx ink. Then, a foam frame was added to the back to pop it up. Next, the bunny panel was added to the front of the card base and the cut-out rectangle panel on top… and that completes this card!

Below is a quick look at a card I made in previous years featuring this same adorable bunny. If you would like all the deets on this card, click here.

I hope these projects give you some inspiration and you will give the East Bunny and Friends stamp set a whirl!
