Just Calling To Say…

Just Calling To Say…

Hi Creative Friends,

Popping in to share a couple of card designs using the super fun stamp and die set, Just Calling by Concord and 9th. I think this set is a delightful way to just say hello or send an interactive birthday or “love” card.

The first of the two cards I made was interactive where you can turn the phone dial to change the message in the speech bubble… how awesome is that!?!

To begin making the first card, I created the background using the Folk Art Turnabout and my stamp positioner. The four Concord & 9th ink colors I used were Ballet Slipper, Honeysuckle, Honeycomb, and Sprout.

The phone was super easy to put together! Concord & 9th thought of everything to make it a snap. I, of course, used the assorted cardstock card stack from Concord & 9th for my colored cardstock.

Then, to make it interactive, I cut out the rotating wheel, then stamped the different greetings around the wheel. It was then mounted on the inside and then mounted onto the dial on the outside… sound confusing? Here is Concord & 9th’s video to help.

The flower background was trimmed and mounted onto an A2-sized cardstock card base, then the speech bubble and circle for the dial were cut using the coordinating die.

The phone and dial were mounted on the front and a sentiment strip was stamped and mounted to complete the card.

The second card was super simple but don’t let that fool you. I think it’s a very clever and fun way to say hello!

For this one, I simply cut out the pieces of the phone, assembled them, and mounted them onto a solid cardstock card base. I used the speech bubble cut out to stamp my “Hello” greeting, then mounted it to the card front. Can you believe it, that was all there was to it!

I had loads of fun making these and they were so simple. Often I create very involved card designs, it is a refreshing change to make quick-makes too!
