Hi Creative Friends,
Concord & 9th has a super cute release this month! Included in it is another ingenious turnabout stamp to add to their collection. This Delightful Day turnabout features cute flowers where you can use up to four colors to create a cheerful background.
When you need a card in a hurry these turnabout stamps and coordinating dies are a perfect way to make a sweet card quickly.
To begin, I chose four coordinating colors of ink from the Concord & 9th ink collection, then mounted the turnabout stamp in my stamp positioner. I used the acetate guide and the All-In-One Turnabout jig to get perfect placement before stamping. Next, I peeled off the protecting sheet from the jig and mounted an A2 white card stock card base.
From there, I stamped my first color, Fig. I stamped it a few times to get good coverage before rotating the jig and card stock panel together one quarter turn, then stamped again, using Creamiscle, again stamped a few times. By the way, be sure to clean your stamp thoroughly in-between color changes!
I continued with the next two rotations using Lilac and Lemongrass. The panel was done – YAY! But, before I went on creating the rest of the card, I thought I would utilize the stamp set-up and stamp another panel. For this one, I only used one color (Lilac) and stamped all four turns with the same color.
Back to the four color panel… I trimmed all four sides and mounted it onto a white card stock card base. Then, using the coordinating Delightful Day dies, I cut out the banner and sentiment using white and Fig card stock.
To finish the first card, I only had to assemble the sentiment and mount it. See, wasn’t that easy?
Now, back to the second panel… I chose to make a simple card by trimming, then mounting the lavender mono-tone panel onto a slightly bigger Fig card stock card base, then onto a slightly larger again white card stock card base.
To decorate the front, I stamped and cut out the included flowers and leaves in the stamp and die set. I used the same Fig and Lemongrass ink colors and added Avocado for the extra leaves.
For the sentiment, I cut out a scalloped rectangle using the Defined dies set, also from the new Concord & 9th release and stamped the sentiment using Fig ink color.
The scalloped sentiment block was mounted on top of the card front and the flower was arranged and glued in place to complete the card.
YAY! Two card made in a blink of the eye! In fact, the lovely Delightful Day turnabout makes quick work of making colorful and cheerful background. It’s a good time to make a bunch and varying the color combinations to make them all different. Then, you would have them at the ready whenever you need a card made in a hurry! ♥
