JB here (IG @inkblissbyjb). I’m happy to be here to share a square card that measure 5.25 X 5.25. I wanted to make sure I had an envelope to fit these measurements and still be able to show off this beautiful embossing folder.
Featuring the “Fresh & Lovely” stamp set, along with 6 X 6 “Flora Gala” embossing folder, “Ascent” dies (leaves), “Positivity” stamp set (sentiments), and finally Oval Whirl dies, all from Penny Black.
Let’s get started….I first stamped the floral image with Rich Cocoa Memento ink on X-Express smooth cardstock to color with Copics. I set it aside to be good and dry. I moved on to die cutting the leaves in Bristol smooth cardstock and began ink blending with Distress Oxides:

Rustic Wilderness
Forest Moss
Prize Ribbon – very lightly on some of the edges and tips
I set aside the ink blending and with 110LB cardstock cut out some additional leaf stems and ran it through the embossing folder to get the design on some leaf stems to add to the ink-blending ones. I also embossed the folder and cut down to 5” width and 5 1/4” length to have a little border on the sides of my base. My base is cut from Blue Denim Gina K cardstock 10 1/2” width and scored at 5 1/4” with length at 5 1/4”. I also cut the oval from the same Blue Denim for the border and again with 110lb Neenah Smooth cardstock for the center of the oval. I ink blended the right side and bottom of the oval with Tumble Glass Distress Oxides.
After setting it all aside, I like to first die cut my stamped image before coloring. I’ve had to many colored images not die cut correctly by me so I don’t take chances anymore. I also stamp at least 2 to 3 images at the time and die cut, so if I do mess up I have extras or can used for another card another time.
Colors used:
Floral – Y11, Y13, Y15
Leaves – YG63, G94
Stems & Stamens – E27
I then stamped my sentiment in the same Rich Cocoa Memento ink. Assembled my card with glue and foam squares and added some Blue embellishments from my stash, and my card is complete.
