Hi Crafty Friends,
I am so glad you joined us today because we are sharing another awesome card design by Rosali of I Love Stamping (IG: ilovestamping). She has created this super cute card featuring the critter filled Happy Campers stamp and die set by My Favorite Things and Stacey Yacula.
As always, Rosali has done some marvelous coloring. She first started with an A2 panel of Bristol (for better blending) and stamped her scene (mountains and moon) using Versafine Onyx Black ink. This waterproof ink allowed her to use one of her favorites, the Winsor & Newton watercolor markers. She applied blue to the top of the panel and used her wet brush, making horizontal strokes, working her way downward.
The moon was, of course, colored with a yellow marker. Then, she added brown to the edges of the mountains and blended the color into the middle of the mountains. This created a shading effect.
Next, she stamped the critters and fire separately onto bristol paper. If you notice she applies more intense color around the edges, then blends with a little water inward, making their cute faces and body have definition and shading. This technique allowed her to create different shades, which means she only had to use a few markers to complete the scene. For an added effect, she used her white Sakura pen for accents and the black Sakura pen for the eyes, to give them a little extra sparkle.
Now, using the matching die set, she cut out the critters and open fire. While she was at it, from green card stock, she also cut a grassy piece and then a hilly piece using Grassy Fields die-namics and Stitched Snow Drifts die-namics respectively.
The grassy bit and ‘snow-drift’ were layered on top of the mountain scene panel, then the whole panel was added to a white card base. The adorable critters and open fire were added with a bit of foam tape and the sentiment stamped with the same black onyx ink.
And there we have it… another uber-cute card by Rosali! ♥
