Woohoo! We are so lucky here at The Foiled Fox. Today is another great post from Laurel Beard!! She has brought us two fantastic cards that are so fun and cheerful – just like Laurel!! One of the great things about these cards too is that they will work for any occasion – we just love card like this, don’t you?
One last note before turning it out to Laurel – be sure to check out Laurel’s own blog at Paper Crafts by Laurel. She has sooooo many wonderful projects. You will not want to miss it! Her bio is here too, just in case the two of you haven’t met.
Hi there! Laurel Beard here today with my last guest post for the month. I have been so honored to be here! These ladies are amazing, the store is adorable and the blog and their designs? Over the moon fantastic!!!!! I pretty much pin every single thing they make! Today I have two cards to share with you today using the Altenew Way Too Sweet Stamp Set and the MFT Die-Namics Square Grid Coverup. I actually created the second card with leftovers from the first card! I had a video to go along with these cards too BUT I got a new Iphone and forgot to transfer the footage to my computer before doing a reset of the old phone and POOF, just like that – the video was gone!
Let’s take a look at the first card:
For the purplish background panel, I just added Orchid and Violet Color Burst to a piece of watercolored cardstock! Once it was completely dry, I ran that panel thru my die cutting machine using the MFT Die-Namics Square Grid Coverup. All the leftover squares I used for my second card (more on that in a bit). To make sure I stamped various ice cream images from the Way to Sweet Stamp set, I placed the grid panel on top of some white watercolored cardstock and put some light pencil lines around the square (they will be covered up when I adhered the die cut panel).
Then, it was time to stamp and watercolor some of those sweet treats! Once all the water coloring was dry, I added a coating of clear glitter with the Wink of Stella Clear glitter pen. I also used the uni-ball white gel pen to add some “frosting” to the ice cream because frosting on ice cream? Why not, lol! Finally, I secured the grid panel onto my white card stock and the sentiment strip over the top of that and voila! A birthday card, a congratulations card, a whatever you want to send for whatever reason card!
Moving on to the second card. Using the leftovers from the first card made these super easy to pull together. I popped up all those little squares with foam dimension onto another watercolored panel colored with the same Color Burst colors. I stamped the two popsicles and watercolored those sweet treats and adhered them and the sentiment panel to the card.
Added a little sparkle on the sentiment strip and some white gel “sprinkles” and you have a super sweet and calorie free card! 🙂 Two of them to be exact! 🙂
Thank you for joining me and a big thank you to The Foiled Fox for allowing me to guest here today. I hope you will welcome me back soon because it has been such a joy being here!
