Hi everyone, Lisa here today with another slimline card for you. I recently used the MFT Christmas Cardinals in a symmetrical design on an A2 card (see here), so today I thought I would show you how they may work on a slimline card. To be honest, most stamp sets featuring images and scene-building elements will transfer well onto a slimline card. And these definitely do.
So, for today’s card, I began by stamping out some of the images using Memento Tuxedo Black onto Neenah 110lb cardstock. I coloured them with Copics and then cut them with the coordinating die-namics. Here is a list of the Copic colors used.
I thought it might be good to include a little house in the scene too, so I took the MFT Snowy Scene Builder and die cut the house from red, white and pale yellow cardstocks. I adhered the red house down onto some scrap paper and then inserted the tiny yellow windows – the scrap paper gives you something to glue them onto. I added the snowy roof and chimney and then trimmed off the excess scrap paper.
I die cut a white slimline panel from the MFT Slimline Starter set and two snow banks from the MFT Stitched Slimline Snow Drifts set and set the banks to one side. I used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink for my sky and blended from top to bottom, fading it out towards the top of where the snowbanks would be. I then glued the banks down flat onto the blended panel
The images were then arranged along the snowdrifts and either popped up with foam tape or glued flat onto the panel. For the sentiment, I used one from the set and this was white heat embossed onto black cardstock and trimmed with MFT Skinny Strips Dienamics. It was then popped up with foam tape.
To finish the card off I added two little jewels onto the hats and a huge dose of Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle onto the trees and hats. The whole panel was then added onto a top folding slimline card base. Et voila! Another Christmas card ready to go, and who can resist those cute little birds in their snowy drifts! I’ll be back soon to share another card with you but in the meantime, happy crafting!
