A Flowery Birthday
Hi Creative Friends,
I am sharing a special card I made for a special person, and I had so much fun doing it. It features the beautiful Into The Blooms: Pressed Flowers by Papertrey Ink and a few supporting actors.

The Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers die set has so many gorgeous flowers in it that I had to cut all of them out. I used Bristol for easy ink blending and coloring them the they I wanted.
I used a handful of Concord & 9th inks and a dauber to do it. I chose Honeysuckle, Buttercup with Peanut, Grapefruit, Surfside, and Briar Rose for the flowers and Lemongrass, Grasshopper, and Parsley for the leaves. After they were colored, I splattered them with gold paint.
For the diamond shape background, I first cut out a rectangle from the Hero Art Infinity Rectangle die set, then trimmed out the corners to form the diamond. With a brush and gold paint, I edged the diamond shape with the paint and let it dry.

The card base front was made by embossing an Oceanside panel using the Distress Mix embossing folder, then very gently swiping the panel with white ink to bring out the pattern.
After the embossing panel was mounted to my card base, I mounted the diamond shape using foam squares, then got busy assembling and arranging the flowers. The flowers were mounted with foam squares.
One of my favorite ways to create a sentiment is to letterpress it using the Spellbinders Betterpress system. The Let’s Celebrate Betterpress set by Spellbinders has so many lovely sentiments; it was easy to find just what I was looking for and the Delicata ink is a great substitute for gold foiling,.

That finishes my card and I love the way the flowers create such a beautiful display.
I hope you enjoyed today’s papercrafting adventure and that it entices you to give it a whirl! ♥
