The Big Happy!

The Big Happy!

Hi Everyone,

I am sharing two card designs that hopefully will brighten your Monday and bring a little cheer to your day! I used the super fun Big Happy set by Concord & 9th to make this happen. I always like a variety of different styles and designs in my card collection; that way, I will always have just the right one for the right person.

These were super fun cards to make and easy to do. Concord & 9th has made sure of it by including everything you need in the stamp and die set.

I started by cutting out the white cardstock panel with the large die. This gave me the letters and the background, then I mounted the negative cut-out onto another A2-sized panel.

From there, I cut out the letters using a different color of cardstock for each, then stamped each one with a pattern and the corresponding ink color. To pop them up, I cut two more sets of letters from white cardstock, then stacked and glued all the layers together.

Now it was just a matter of mounting the letters onto the card front and adding the ‘day’ sentiment, which was cut from black cardstock.

For my second card, I went a little wild and wacky by cutting out the letters with white cardstock, then stamped them with the pattern stamps using Nocturne black ink. Like the first card, I cut out two more sets of letters, then stacked and glued them together.

The background was made by combining two colors of cardstock that had been cut diagonally and mounting it on another white cardstock panel.

Next, I mounted the letters on top, using the negative cut-out as a guide for placement.

To give it even more pizazz, I added a slightly larger hot pink panel to the front panel, then cut out the word “birthday” from orange cardstock and added it to the front.

Both of these cards took no time at all to make, and I am so happy to have some cheery, and maybe a little wacky, cards in my stash ready for that offbeat person in my life.
