Aubrey Blooms

Aubrey Blooms

Hi Everyone,

Today, I am featuring a new card design using the new and beautiful Aubrey Blooms set by Kristina Werner and Concord & 9th. It has striking flowers with a solid background. You can use the stamp and the stencil set together, as I did, or use them separately. Either way, it is a gorgeous focal point for any card design.

And I would be remiss if I didn’t remind you that you have one more day to save 15% (use coupon code 15APR26 at checkout.

There are two main parts to making this card. The first is to make the floral panel, and the second is the foundational one, where the layers and card base are made.

I am starting with the Aubrey stamp mounted in my stamp positioner, a Bristol paper panel, and Buttercup ink by Concord & 9th. The stamp was liberally inked with Buttercup ink and stamped until I got an even layer of yellow.

I was looking for a subtle yellow, but after adding a few coats of Buttercup ink, the yellow was a little too bold for my liking. So, I tried a little experiment.

I wiped down my stamp to remove any remaining yellow ink, then inked the stamp with Concord & 9th’s white pigment ink. I love their white ink. It has a true white color!

I stamped the panel a few times with the white ink until I reached my desired color – a beautiful mellow yellow!

After letting the ink dry and using the coordinating stencil set, I stenciled the flowers and leaves. I used Tidepool for the flowers and Eucalyptus for the leaves. Although the center of the flowers was white from the Bristol paper showing through, I wanted a brighter white, so I stenciled the centers with white ink.

With the panel done, It was time to make the foundational pieces. I cut a white cardstock panel using Spellbinder’s Linear Touch Rectangles, then cut a slightly larger gold metallic panel (see the paper used in the supply list below).

Next, the floral panel was trimmed to fit inside the Linear Touch white panel. It was backed with foam, then, using a strand of white floss, split in two. I wrapped it around the panel, then secured the panel onto the white one, then onto the gold one.

The ‘hello’ was cut, using Kristina Werner’s Framed Script sentiments and white cardstock.

And there we have it, another floral card for my stash – just the kind I use most!
