A Happy Spring Day to You All!
Today we are featuring a birthday card using the Altenew’s Botanical Garden stamp set. This stamp set has so many beautiful flowers and leaves to choose from! An interesting background was also created using the Concord & 9th Many Mandalas stamp set. Check out more below.
This card began with a Neenah Solar White 100lb. panel. The panel was then stamped using a few mandalas from the Concord & 9th Many Mandalas stamp set and Versamark ink. A few were heat embossing with white embossing powder. Then others, overlapping a bit, were stamped with the same Versamark ink and heat embossed with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl embossing powder. Each of these embossing powders have a different effect on the paper. The white embossing powder has a white appearance and the white satin pearl is more shimmery.
After the mandalas were stamped and heat embossed, I added some shadows with my blending tool and a few of the inks included in the Altenew Warm Gray Mini Cube Set. Then, I stamped Moon Rock ink (in the set) on an acrylic block, added water and splattered the ink on the panel. You can see more detail in the close-up photo above.
With the panel done, the flowers and leaves were stamped onto watercolor paper using Versamark ink, then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I applied clear water onto a flower and dropped watercolor to the center of each flower, allowing the color to spread and dispurse. After flowers and leaves were watercolored and were dry, they were cut out.
The only thing left was to stamp the sentiment and assemble. The sentiment was stamped with a darkest color, Lava Rock, in the Altenew Warm Gray mini cube set.
The final touch is to attach the embossed white panel onto a Sugar Wafer card stock card base and the flowers and leaves arrangements and attached. A few sequin were added for an extra bit of sparkle.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project. We will see you again real soon!

I love the use of the two different embossing powders! Never would have thought of doing that! Thanks so much for the idea!
The white embossing really makes these flowers pop. Beautiful job!
