It’s Your Day

Hi everyone!  

JB (IG: @inkblissbyjjb) here, and I’m excited to share a Penny Black new release card featuring the “Floral Smile” stamp set!  It’s a beautiful set and can be used for so many occasions

.  

I first stamped 2 of the 3-piece stamp set using X-Press It cardstock with Memento black ink, and set it aside to dry. I will later use Copics.  

For the background panel, I used another Penny Black “All-in-One Oval” die set.  I love this frame as it cuts out 3 pieces.  I used Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink-blended the main piece with one of my favorite colors, Bundled Sage Distress Oxide.  I seemed to have a heavy hand these days, so I ink-blended very lightly so my flowers could be the focus and pop in color.

For the 2nd piece of the frame,  the imprinted oval, I cut again from bright 110lb cardstock so it would match my base cardstock panel with the same brightness.  I then went on to color my flowers with Copics listed below:

Big Flower – R22, R14, R05
Small Flower – RV11, RV32, R83
Small Budding Flowers – Y04, Y06, Y08 (same for center of flowers)
Leaves – YG61, G82

I finished by lightly ink-blending the center oval with Bundled Sage distress oxide to get ready for the sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Birthday Sentiments stamp set from Waffle Flower with Versafine Onyx Black.  I used foam squares for the floral pieces and Mono liquid adhesive for all the panels.  I finished with embellishments from my stash.
