JB (@inkblissbyjb)here with you today!  With Spring comes ladybugs!  I must say I’m seeing more this year.  Sharing a 5X7 card featuring “Build-A-Ladybug” die collection from Papertrey Inc.  These are big and beautiful for cards, even tags!

They are so easy to put together.  I started with Bristol smooth cardstock to cut the shells and all my flowers and foliage.  For my ladybugs, I like to ink-blend my dies, but I started with black cardstock for the bodies and dots on their shells.  I wanted a solid dark coverage, but I ink-blended the shells with all oxides for my entire card.  Started with Lumberjack Plaid, blending lightly, then darkening from top to almost bottom.  Then, Carved Pumpkin and shaded darker, and lastly Fossilized Amber and shaded with Wild Honey.  The ladybugs come with an eye die, but I opt not to use it.  I wanted just solid black.

Other Papertrey Products I used from their newest release: Into the Blooms: Pressed Flowers Die Collection, Reflections: Exodus 14 Die Collection, Wildflower Wreath (sentiment)

For my flowers, I used: Tattered Rose, Shaded Lilac, Abandoned Coral. Dried Marigold, Mustard Seed. Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey, and Rusty Hinge for centers

Foliage was a mixture of colors together: Crushed Olive, Bundled Sage. Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn, Forest Moss, Rustic Wilderness, Shaded Lilac, Faded Jeans, Unchartered Mariner

The background of the inside frame was cut from Bristol smooth cardstock I ink-blended the sky with Tumbled Glass, and for the meadow, Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint.

To finish the card, I cut from 110lb white cardstock the Exodus die and stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black.  The frame from Concord & 9th A7 detailed frames dies was used, and I tripled up the trim with 110lb white cardstock so I could inlay the background and left the bottom not glued so I could tuck in the foliage, then glued it to my base 110lb white cardstock.  I splattered the bottom with Dr PH Martin bleed-proof ink.

I added the ladybugs with foam squares, and it’s completed!

I hope you enjoy my card!  All sets I used are fantastic and available in the shop at Foiled Fox. You can find me at IG @inkblissbyjb, and be sure to visit IG @foiledfox for more beautiful inspiration!

Happy Crafting!
