Say Thanks with Sweet Blooms

JB here with you today (IG @inkblissbyjb). I hope you’re enjoying all the beautiful blooms surrounding us! Sharing an A2-size watercolor card featuring “Sweet Blooms” dies from Hero Arts.
I started with Ranger watercolor cardstock on the smooth side and ink smooshed with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide, and using the Ranger Heat tool, dried completely. Placing in my Misti stamp positioner, I inked up Hero Arts “Positive Script” rubber stamp 6×6” with Ranger Distress Archival Ink Salvaged Patina. I absolutely love this background stamp and can used for many occasions. I went on to cut my background panel with Spellbinders “Heartfelt Thanks & Scallops” dies and set my panel aside.
I cut the Spellbinders “Decorative Lattice” die 3 times with 110lb white cardstock and glued them together to give dimension. I cut all the dies from “Sweet Blooms” in Ranger watercolor cardstock using the smooth side. If you ever feel intimidated doing watercolor, here is a quick and easy way to color die cuts. Using daubers, I rubbed and pounced multiple colors onto my pieces and spritzed with water either using Ranger Distress Sprayer or Spellbinders Misting bottle and dried with a heat tool. Once dry, if you want to add more color, repeat the process until you achieve to your liking!
Colors I used on my card:
Flowers – Dried Marigold Distress Oxide, Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink
Flower centers – Fossilized Amber Distress Ink
Stems & Leaves – Twisted Citron Distress Oxide, Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink
I assembled my card with a 110lb white cardstock for the base and finished with a sentiment “Thanks” from the “Heartfelt Thanks & Scallops” die set, which was cut from Gold Metallic and glued to vellum with the shadow die.
