Hi Friends,
It is almost Happy ♥ Day and this little critter is peeking out to say I’ll be your “partner in crime”! These adorable raccoons are from the Hero Arts Love Bandit collection. This set is sooo cute and can be used for many occasions, including Valentine’s Day.
This simple card starts when stamping the little raccoon in the trash can onto Neenah white cardstock. I did use a stamping positioning tool, like the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform or the MISTI so I could get a solid black image. The raccoon and trash can were then colored with Copic markers. Below is a quick guide to the colors used.
The critter and can were then fussy cut and then the trash can was slathered with clear IrRESISTible Pico Embellisher (glossy accents works great too) and set aside to dry. I know it is next to impossible to see in a photo but it gives the can a shiny, dimensional appearance.
While the raccoon was drying, I cut a Neenah white cardstock panel using the largest Wonky Stitches die by Avery Elle. I then stenciled on a few random hearts using the My Favorite Things Full of Hearts stencil and Worn Lipstick distress oxide ink.
Next up, the panel was adhered to a Robin’s Egg cardstock card base and the raccoon positioned with a little foam tape. The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of black cardstock using Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Hero Arts white embossing powder (my favorite!).
I had a few hearts left over from another project so decided they would be a nice addition. They were added, along with the sentiment with foam tape for extra dimension. The final touch was to create a bit of ‘ground’ for the trash can to sit on by adding little dash marks with a C3 Copic Marker.
I hope you enjoyed this quick card. We will see you next time!
