A Beary Snowy Shutter Card

A Beary Snowy Shutter Card

HI Crafty Friends,

We are sharing a wonderful interactive card design by Rosali of I Love Stamping (Instagram: @ilovestamping). She has created a beary snowy shutter card that will delight any recipient. We just love the wintery blues and snowflakes she uses, along with the adorable bear by Lawn Fawn. Then, she adds the interactive shutter feature to push this card design into the AWESOME column!

Rosali created this charming card by first preparing her backgrounds just as it shows in the Lawn Fawn video below. She used Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass and Blueprint Sketch distress oxide inks for this wintery backdrop. Then stamped a few snowflakes using Blueprint Sketch and splatters some white speckles for the snow. (Hint: we like to use Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bleedproof White ink for this – it makes the best pure white snow – see supply list below). She then cut a skyline of trees by using Lawn Fawn’s Forest Border die from Neenah white card stock.

A few more elements were needed before the assembly began. She cut out a few snowflakes using a few colors of card stock and the Snowflake Splendor die by My Favorite Things. The adorable bear from the Beary Happy Holidays stamp set was stamped with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink, then colored with a few warm gray (W1, W3, W5), pinks (R1, R20) and a blue Copic markers for the scarf. For a few quick accents, she used her white gel pen (check out the scarf and nose). Once the bear was done, she cut it out using the matching dies.

One final piece, the belly band, was needed. It was cut from Vellum paper using the die in the set.

With all the pieces ready, she followed along with Lawn Fawn’s video below for all the ins and outs on how to assemble. When it was time to stamp the sentiment, she used the matching Shutter Card Holiday Sayings stamp set and Blueprint Sketch distress oxide ink.

Rosali closed the card up and slipped on the belly band. She cleverly used the circle that was left over from the background assembly and added a few more snowflakes for a very decorative closure.

Isn’t this the cutest card? We hope you give it a go – we know it will delight anyone on your holiday card list!
