Hi Crafty Friends,
I am adding to the parade of wonderful Alexandra Renke card designs today by featuring this adorable mouse and otter. I am absolutely over the moon with all the Renke goodies this year, especially these little critters. The otter sports a scarf, hat, and cupcake. The mouse with a sweet candy cane in this Animal Duo: Mouse and Otter die set.
Like the other Alexandra Renke holiday cards we have displayed so far, it is a simple design. Her products lend themselves to utter simplicity. That is right up my alley and makes for a quick make!
Of course, this card design starts with the super cute critters. They were cut out of red and white card stock. I left them white though they are wonderful when colored too like in this example below.
The critters are designed to hold something so you can change the motif to fit the occasion. Imagine this little guy holding balloons for a birthday or flowers for that special someone like in the picture above. But, for now, I am continuing with my holiday theme.
Using an ink dauber, the cupcake was colored with Candied Apple and Rusty Hinge distress ink.
Next, I made a white card stock card base and a matching white card stock panel. I cut a piece from the new Renke design paper: Red Stripes with Dots and added it to the bottom of the panel. To give the critters a sparkly platform to stand on, I added a narrow strip of red glitter paper.
The panel was mounted on top of the card base front and the critters were secured with thin foam squares.
I used one of the sentiments for the new Alexandra Renke The Most Beautiful Time sentiment set and stamped it onto a white card stock small rectangle using Poppy red ink. Then, added it to the card front as my final touch!
These little critters are so loveable and have so much personality. I hope you fall in love with them too! ♥
