Hi Everyone,
Today is a tribute to all our adorable furry friends that just want to play ball. This cutey of a dog is from the My Favorite Things Four-Legged Friends stamp set.
The dogs in this set are unbelievably cute! I couldn’t resist this one with the fuzzy muzzle. He was stamped onto Neenah white card stock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, my favorite Copic friendly ink. His body was colored with E17, E21 and E33. The muzzle and puff tail was colored with C00, C1, C2, C4 and C7.
Next, is the ball. The ball was sketched using the .003 Zig Cartoonist Black Pen and then colored with Copic markers R01, R22 and R39.
To begin the background, I taped off the edges of a white cardstock panel with yellow Frog Tape (tape for sensitive surfaces-see supply list below) so that only the center rectangle was exposed. Then, using a post-it note, I cut a hill shape and mask off the bottom of the rectangle so only the ‘sky’ portion was exposed.
Using the cloud stencil by My Favorite Things, Tumbled Glass distress ink and a blending tool the sky came to life. Now, I covered the sky with post-it notes and colored the hill with Mowed Grass and Crushed Olive distress inks.
The frog tape was removed, the dog and ball were placed onto the panel using foam tape and the “wanna play” sentiment was hand lettered with McCaffery’s black ink and oblique pen with Nikko G nib.
The final steps were to add a foam sheet behind the top panel, mount onto a French Mint cardstock base and add Glossy Accents to the eyes and nose. Now, this dog is ready to play!
