Wings of Love

Wings of Love

Hi Creative Friends,

Today, I am sharing a sweet, lovey-dovey card featuring charming little birds on a leaf-covered swing. The brand new Papertrey Ink Wings of Love stamp, die, and stencil set includes all this, plus flowers and other goodies. I only used the stamp and die this time, but I am eager to try out the stencil, too.

With no idea what I wanted the card to look like, I jumped into making some of the key elements like the birds. This technique usually gets my creative juices flowing… and I am happy to report, it worked again!

So, to begin, I cut out all the pieces in the die set from Bristol paper. then stamped each piece with the corresponding stamp. I used a variety of colors. Here is a key:

Birds – Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Ballet Slipper for the heart eyes and accents.
Leaves – Green Parakeet and Avocado
Flowers: Buttercup, Honeysuckle, and Wild Berry

The background pieces were next. Using the Watercolor Plaid stencil set from Papertrey Ink, I stenciled the pattern using Honeysuckle and Nectar onto an A2-sized white card stock panel, then adhered it to an A2-sized white card stock card base.

Next, I cut out a decorative panel using the December Psalm die. Then, I embossed the panel for a little extra detail using the Quilted cover plate (you can find everything in the supply list below).

Assembly was next but before I started I stamped one of the sentiments in the set onto the decorative panel.

Finally, the scalloped panel was backed with foam and then mounted to the front of the card base. Using all the pieces prepared earlier, I arranged and adhered them to the card with foam squares.

That completed my card design. I hope you liked it!
