Wildflowers Birthday Card

Hello Everyone,

It is so nice to be back with you today to share a card made with two of Concord & 9th’s loveliest stamp sets, Wildflowers and Say Hello. I love the wildflowers in this set. They create a beautiful array of flowers.

Below is the video.  It will walk you through, step by step and hopefully give you a few tips and tricks along the way.

As you can see in this video, all the flowers are colored with Copic markers. Like always, there is a Copic coloring guide below for your easy reference.

After all the flowers were colored and cut out, using the Heidi Swapp ‘happy’ die, two ‘happys’ were cut from pink cardstock. Then, one of the happys was colored with three different colors for an ombre effect. I started with RV10, then with R32 in the middle and R24 at the bottom. To smooth everything out, I went over the entire ‘happy’ with RV10 again. To finish, I glued the plain, uncolored ‘happy’ to the back of the ombre colored one. This gives extra thickness and dimension. Slivers of foam tape were added to the back and then slathered with glossy accents.

The rest of the sentiment was created by stamping ‘birthday’ onto black cardstock with Versamark ink, sprinkled with white embossing powder, then heat set. The sentiment was cut out by using the Stitched Rectangle Window banners by My Favorite Things.

The assembly of the card started by attaching all the flowers and leaves with foam tape and/or tape runner to a panel cut from the Black and White paper pack by My Favorite Things.  The Lawn Fawn Rectangle Stackable die was used to cut the panel out. An additional black cardstock panel was cut at the same time.

To put it all together, the black panel was attached to a white card base, then the flower-laden one on top. The sentiment was attached. Turquoise enamel dots by Doodlebug were added for the final touch!
