We get to share two of our favorites, Lisa Tilson of My Card Trip blog and the other is a stamp and die set by Ink To Paper. If you follow us regularly then you know that we love Lisa and Ink To Paper so much!
In this design, Lisa has used inks and a stencil, plus the stamp and die set, ‘Birdie’ to create this adorable scene, complete with a super ‘chirpful’ birthday wish. Lisa has been kind enough to share how she created it. Let’s find out how, ok?
Hello everyone! I am thrilled to be back again on the Foiled Fox Blog and I have a tweet slimline card for you today. The latest Ink To Paper release did not disappoint (how could it ever?) and I thought the Birdie set was absolutely adorable and decided to use that for my card today.
Vertical slimline cards always seem to work well for sky/galaxy themes or underwater themes, don’t they? That depth down through the card allows for things to be hung, flying, or diving to their heart’s content! I started by taking a panel of 80lb Neenah, the MFT Cloud stencil and six rainbow coloured Distress Inks. I blended Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, and Shaded Lilac down through the panel and trimmed it to just under 7” x 4”.
Next, I used a selection of inks (see supply list) to stamp my cherry blossom, leaves, branches, birds, and birdcages. I originally had the little birds in blue (bluebirds of course) but they got lost in the rainbow background so I changed them to a darker brown in the end – they morphed into sparrows! I used the coordinating dies to cut them out, placed the images over my blended panel and fiddled around with the layout until I was happy. I then took a photo so that I could recreate it accurately when adhering everything down.
I adhered some images flat and some popped up with foam tape and then put the whole panel back into the MISTI and stamped a sentiment from the Ink To Paper Sweet Tweets set. This was stamped using MFT Steel Gray Hybrid ink – so it’s not as stark as black and coordinates better with the panel and images. And that finished the card, not a coloured pencil, paint tube or marker insight for me today, pretty unusual! I hope you all have a great day, happy crafting!
