Hi Everyone,
Today we are bringing you a beautiful bunch of flowers that were created with the Birthday Bouquet stamp and die set by Ink To Paper. Ink To Paper always does the most awesome stamps and dies and this one is no exception.
This stamp and die set has the foundation of a bouquet with most of the stems and leaves in one die. Then there are separate leaves to add for extra fullness. There are a ton of flowers you can stamp too.
So, that’s where I started. I stamped all the variety of flowers and a few extra of the little ones and the stems/leaves. I used all Papertrey Ink ink cubes for stamping. They have such luscious colors! Check out the list of the ones I used in the ‘Goodies List’ below.
Once all the flowers and leaves were stamped and cut out using the matching dies, I cut out a rectangle border using the Back to Basics: Rectangle Border die and I used a panel of Eucalyptus card stock. While I was at it, I prepared a white card base slightly larger than the green border I just made and cut out the bow with a scrap of Fuchsia card stock.
To get an idea of how the card design was shaping up, I assembled all the pieces together without gluing them. I really liked the border but it was a touch too plain for me. So, using the Lawn Fawn Yeti ink pad, I swiped white ink onto the border to give it a distressed look.
While the ink was drying on the border, I cut a piece of vellum for the center section of the border. There is a tiny little flower stamp in the stamp set which I used to stamp the vellum paper with the same white ink. I will use this for the center of the card. It is a small detail but I thought it softened the center and gave it a hint of interest!
With the border now dry and all the pieces were ready, I mounted the vellum piece to the center of the card base and then added the green border with foam tape around the perimeter to pop it up. Next, I arranged and glued the flowers in place.
I added the bow and still had to add a sentiment. I thought I was going to add a tag to the bow or bouquet but I found it covered the flowers too much so opted to add a sentiment on the border instead. I stamped the sentiment onto the border. I know… talk about making it hard on myself. The whole card was done and I needed to stamp the sentiment – now what? One mistake and I was done for!
Well, I chucked it into the stamp positioner, generously applied anti-static powder, then carefully stamped it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Whew! That was scary, but all went well – all done! ♥
One last note: If you are going to try this project – and I wholeheartedly think you should, the stamp and die set is wonderful! – I would seriously consider using one of the wonderful sentiments included in the set. Hindsight is 20/20, isn’t it?
