A Big Hello

A Big Hello

Hi Friends,

A few days ago we shared a Birds of Paradise card design using the Floral Paradise stamp and die set. As we often do, we made several Birds of Paradise flowers. We had just enough left over to make this striking but simple card. It was a great way to send a BIG HELLO to someone that would love to hear from you.

The vibrant colors of the flowers are a real stand-out, making it a perfect main attraction to this card design. There are a few pieces to making this flower so to make it less confusing, and hopefully easier, we created a video last week to show you all the steps. Click here to go to the video, then pop below for steps on how to create this card and a complete supply list too.

Ok, the flowers are done so it is on to the other simple elements. A big ‘hello’ was cut using the new On The Border: Leaves die from Papertrey Ink. This die set includes a hello circle along with a beautiful leafy border. For this card though, we only cut out the hello circle from white card stock and another solid circle from Orange Zest card stock. The white hello was stacked on top of the orange circle and glued together.

Next, we cut an A2-sized panel of Orange Zest cardstock and mounted it to the front of the card base. Another white card stock panel was cut. It was trimmed one-quarter of an inch shorter on the long side than the A2 size.

After a few splatters of Orange Zest ink (see supply list) were added to the front, this panel was stacked on top of the card front.

The flowers and leaf were attached to the front with a bit of foam tape and the “hello” ensemble was added too.

That completes the card… now, wasn’t that easy?
