Hi there,
Hero Arts’ new stamp and die set, Love Bandit is brimming with adorable raccoons ready to offer their heart this Valentine’s Day. Each raccoon is sooo cute! It was a blast to color and create this card with these mischievous little creatures!
This card begins with a piece of white Bristol paper, the My Favorite Things Full of Heart stencil, and a few distress oxide inks: Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple.
The stencil is placed over top of the panel and taped down. Then, with a blending tool and starting at the lower right corner with the candied apple distress ink, working diagonally, I lightly blended roughly one-third of the panel, next Picked Raspberry oxide in the middle and finally Worn lipstick oxide ink to finish in the upper left corner. I finished the panel by splattered water droplets onto the panel and blotting dry, then die cut the panel with the MFT Mod Rectangle STAX.
With the panel complete, I stamped the raccoon and ‘love ya’ onto white card stock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Since there are solid parts of black to this little raccoon and expression, I used a stamp positioning tool (ie: Tim Holtz Stamping Platform or a MISTI) so I could stamp multiple times in the same area to get a good solid black stamping. The raccoon was then colored with Copic markers. The colors used were: C0, C2, C4, C5 and RV13, RV04, G03 and Y35 for his flowers.
Once colored, he was die-cut out and IrRESISTible Pico Embellisher was added for shine and dimension to his eyes, nose and his bunch of flowers.
The sentiment “Be My Valentine” was stamped onto a scrap of dark pink cardstock using Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Hero Arts white embossing powder.
The card was assembled by starting with a white card base, adding the stenciled heart panel (with a little foam behind it to pop it up. The “Be My Valentine” sentiment was added on top with foam tape, then the raccoon and ‘love ya” were placed using a bit of foam tape too.
The final touch was adding a few clear round drops and VIOLA! it is done!

Just darling!
What a cutie “Rocky Raccoon’ he is. Love everything about this card. Fun festive and filled with love. I love the extra definition the clear round dots add. Well done!
I need this whole set of things LOL.
