Petals For You

Petals For You

Hi Creative Friends,

Let’s have a bit of fun… with the new Petals die set by Penny Black, that is! This die set is so easy and fun to use. It adapts to soooo many card designs, here is just one!

But before I jump into the ins and outs of this design, I don’t want to forget to tell you that you can save 15% off all Penny Black, starting today through Monday, July 17th. See all the details at the end of this blog!

This card is rather self-explanatory but I have included a brief list of steps below.

I started with a white card stock card base slightly larger than A2-sized (4 3/4″ x 6″).  I then cut an A2-sized Glacier blue card stock (by Spellbinders, see supply list) panel, adhered a foam backing, then mounted it onto the front of the white card stock card base.

Next, I cut three “YOU” words from white card stock using the Penny Black YOU die, then stacked and glued them together. The YOU was then added to the front of the card base.

Using the Petals die by Penny Black and a few bright colors of cardstock from the Papertrey Brights sampler and Lovely Lady paper pack, I cut out several flowers and leaves (trimmed from the stems).

I glued on the centers and added a foam square to the back (well, actually half of a small foam square!).

The flowers were arranged and mounted.

To complete the sentiment… and the card, I white heat embossed the phrase ‘are my favorite’ to match with the word “you’ onto a black cardstock strip – be sure to use your anti-static powder- and mounted it amongst the flowers.

I love how simple, cheerful, and bright the card is. I am excited to send it along to one of my favorites in hopes they will enjoy it too!
