Hi there,
It has been awhile since I was last here. You know how it is…with kids home during the summer and lots of summer activities, it was hard to find a moment to myself. But another school year has started and I am getting back into the swing of things with this cute birthday card for a favorite little girl we know.
So to start, I made a card base with 5.5″ x 11″ white card stock and scored it at the 5.5″ measurement on the long side, folded it in half and set it aside. Then, I cut another piece of white card stock, measuring 5.5″ x 5.5″. Next, I positioned the Altenew Tiny Bubbles stencil over the panel and spread the Viva Decor Mother of Pearl modellier cream over the top, filling in the bubbles. When all the panel had been stenciled, I carefully removed the stencil and set the panel aside to dry.
Hint: The beauty of this modellier creme (texture paste) is multi-fold. It comes in various colors, has a whipped cream texture, dries really quickly and it has a luscious mother-of-pearl sheen to it when it dries.
While the panel was drying, using the Lawn Fawn Meow You Doin” stamp set, I stamped all the cats and mice on a piece of white card stock and colored each with Copic markers. Here is a handy guide showing the colors I used:
After all was colored, they were all cut with the matching Meow You Doin’ Lawn Cuts.
Next, using a sponge dauber and Scattered Straw and Antique Linen distress inks, I added some color on top of the dried modeling creams and stenciled paper. Then, created the cheesy look by randomly cutting out circles using the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Circle Stackables.
To assemble, the ‘cheesy’ top was mounted onto the card base with foam tape and the cats and mice were mounted in each of the cheese holes. To finish, I added the cute sentiment from the Meow You Doin’ stamp set by stamping it onto orange card stock and cutting out the banner using the Avery Elle Pierced Banner Dies. It was then mounted on the upper left corner.
Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope to be back with you again soon!
