Everything Is Coming Up Posies by Laurel Beard

Hi there,

Everything is coming up posies! Laurel Beard of Simply Cardmaking with Laurel is visiting today and she is sharing a fabulous card using the beautiful Concord & 9th stamp and die set,  Posie Fill-In. She is so clever how she is using the luscious new embossing powder colors! It just makes this design pop!

Take a look at how she does it and then be sure to pop over to her blog for more inspiration.

Heat Embossing really adds a wow factor to any project so I decided to do lots and lots of heat embossing on today’s card. I am so giddy to back with the folks at The Foiled Fox. The Posie Fill in stamp set and coordinating die from Concord & 9th is a super fun set to play with. You fill in the gaps with the florals and foliage. But why not take it a step further and instead of inking the fill-in images, heat emboss instead? YES! It takes longer, but it’s worth it.

All the images were first stamp with Versamark Ink (clear sticky ink you can use for heat embossing), sprinkled on the embossing powders over the top and heat set. I started with the large grid background stamp by heat embossing with Gunmetal Embossing powder. Then it was time to start filling in all the flowers. I stamped all but one floral directly onto the panel and heat embossed with Violet, Sky Blue, Cornflower and Leaf Green embossing powders. I then stamped, heat embossed and die cut another floral and leaves so I could add a wee bit of dimension to this card by popping up one of the floral images. As a finishing touch, I die cut the “friend” from the coordinating die set and adhered it to a card panel and filled in the letters with some Glossy Accents.

I hope you guys have a great day and thanks so much for letting me pop in here today.
